BAFTA Award winning film "Marvellous" the truly heartwarming story of Neil Baldwin (played by Toby Jones) who refused to let a learning disability define his life and became a registered clown, an honorary graduate of Keele University and Kit Man for Stoke City Football Club.
Along the way, he made friends with Gary Lineker, Prince Edward and the then Archbishop of Canterbury. He also met and became lifelong friends with Malcolm Clarke, brother of a Gunnerside resident, who is depicted in the film. Malcolm will join us for the screening to talk about Neil and answer questions about the film and about Neil.

Time to see those dinosaurs up close on a big screen again! The first in the Jurassic Park franchise and some say the best.
Before the film we will enjoy a short talk by Les Knight who will explain that Jurassic Park was not only famous for its depiction of active dinosaurs but also started research into ancient DNA and weather forecasting.

A film which needs no introduction and which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
It’s an emotional rollercoaster culminating in the Albert Hall finale. As befits a film about a colliery brass band, we will enjoy a short concert by some local brass musicians before the film.

Back by popular demand following our very successful 60s and 70s disco last year, please join us for a Greatest Hits Disco and Dinner. It’s not long till December so you can expect a bit of a chance to rock into Christmas too. We will be serving a 3 course buffet meal and a bar will be available. Disco dress is optional!

Get into a festive mood with this animated film set on Christmas Eve about a young boy who travels to the North Pole aboard a magical train guided by its conductor.
Come in pyjamas and dressing gown (not obligatory!) for a cosy night with hot chocolate and marshmallows available along with our usual bar.
